“Garces Contractors installed a new water pipe to our house (which was built in 1886) in Hyde Park in January, 2010. This was not a simple job and required tapping into the existing water main under the street, installing a feeder pipe through a long stretch of property, and tunneling under existing sidewalks and into our house. Three other houses were also given new water service during this job. As such, this job was complex from not only a logistical standpoint, but also from the aspect of permitting at the city level. Garces Contractors dealt with both facets with grace and professionalism, and was a joy to work with. Permits were granted within a week of us signing the contract, and the job was finished two weeks after the first ground was broken (during the coldest time of the year and with a foot of snow on the ground!).
We found every member of the company to be polite, punctual and attentive to getting the job done right. From Marge in the office, who always treated our phone calls as if we were the most important people in the world, to the plumbers that kindly agreed to not kill the snakes they found in the garden in front of our house (as much as they might have wanted to), employees of Garces Contractors were among the best contractors we have ever dealt with. Finally, Mike Mannion was nothing short of fantastic, especially in keeping us posted on daily progress, and the magic he worked with the city permitting process.
